Morden Hall Park Angling Club

Rules

Only Barbless and micro-barbed hooks may be used.

No electronic bite alarms.

No radios of any description.

One rod only per angler.

No rods to be left unattended.

No carp or barbel to be sacked.

No keepnets allowed.

Minimum landing net of 36” inches for carp and barbel.

All fish to be returned alive and unharmed.

No under -14s without an adult present.

Fishing only allowed in designated swims or pegs. (See map of park for boundaries and areas where fishing is allowed).

No fires, barbecues or cooking stoves permitted with exception of Kelly kettles.

Members that are fishing a designated disabled swim must give up the swim providing there is another vacant swim nearby or another swim vacant for the disabled angler.

Members must attend at least one work party during season with exception of disabled and junior members, OAPs and associate members.

Wading is permitted in suitable swims designated by the committee only.

Pre baiting in the close season is banned.

Day tickets to be off swims by dusk.

Guest tickets can fish until 06:30 am of following day.

Rubbish to be put in bins or taken away for disposal.
Anyone found leaving litter in any swim, or in any area under control of the club or adjacent to any such area, or fishing with litter in the swim or nearby shall come before the committee and will be subject to disciplinary action.

No alcohol to be consumed on the bank.

No left-over bait to be thrown in at end of session - take it home with you.

No person may erect any tent or “Bivvy”. Normal umbrellas with over-wraps are allowed but members using any such shelter must ensure they do not put the welfare of the fish in the water being fished or any other wildlife in jeopardy. Particular care must be taken regarding the ability to respond to any bites quick enough not to put the fish at risk

No person shall cause any willful damage to the banks or herbage.

Day tickets will only be available from 1st August.

Members must not publicise the clubs waters, or catches made there, without prior permission of the club Secretary.

Any specimen fish captured may be weighed and verified by the appropriate fishery officer and returned unharmed.

Removal or introduction of any fish is strictly prohibited.

No bait shall be taken to the waters edge in any type of metal or glass container, but must be taken in a recognised nontoxic plastic bait container.

Every member of the club shall be furnished with a copy of these rules and it shall be considered their duty to report any infringement to a committee member without delay.

In the case of infringement of these rules, a member shall be liable to a suspension or expulsion from the club, depending on the committee, after a full investigation. The member shall have the right to give a full account of the alleged infringement.
Any member found transferring their membership card to any other person or otherwise abusing the privileges granted by the club, or acting in a manor deemed to be detrimental to the club shall be held responsible for their actions and may be expelled by a resolution of the committee.

Current membership cards must be obtained before fishing club waters. Members are warned to ensure that they have an Environment Agency rod license. All members, whilst fishing, must carry there membership card, which must be produced on request of any member of the club. All club waters are governed by the environment agency and National Trust by Laws. All club members shall be considered to have the power of bailiff on all club waters. Each member must use their best endeavours to ensure that the waters available to the club are fished in a proper manner and only by members of the club or valid day ticket holders.*

*Important Note

Any member finding any persons fishing without a membership, day ticket or other form of direct permission should explain to that person that they are not allowed to fish there and ask them leave. Details of how to join the club should be bought to their attention; pre-printed slips containing these details are available from the Club Secretary should you want to carry them.

Under no circumstances should any personal risk be taken; if any person approached becomes aggressive, simply walk away and inform the community police of their presence.
