On Saturday 25th April 2009 I came across four boys fishing just above the Hackbridge in Wallington, stopping to talk to them I noticed the state of the bank, tins, paper, cardboard, plastic,a wollen jumper and a pair of socks. I commented to the group about the condition of the site and within a couple of seconds all five of us where sweeping the place clean. There is a large wheelie bin on the industrial side of the river and we must have made 5 trips to it. Afterwards the place looked spotless, I thanked the boys for the help, then politely informed them that it was the close season, with this they packed up and went home. Mind you I gave them a couple of bob, so the next stop was probably a sweet shop. kids a.
